Imperial Russian government issues decree
repealing manifestos of Catherine the Great
1876
Michae Denning & Michael Dreiling families
immigrate to the United States via the SS Mosel
ship
1941
All 300,00 Volga Germans were loaded on trains
& shipped to northeast Russia and Siberia
to work in forced labor camps
1953
German POWs were released
1956
Volga German Russian citizens were released
from labor camps and given passports that allowed
them to stay only 3 days in any one location

Thoughts -- Because
of the risks & decision our ancestors made
by coming to the United States our lives are significantly
better than what they would have been in Russia.
